Individual Psychotherapy

We provide general psychotherapy services to children 9+, teens and adults with additional expertise in mood disorders including bipolar disorder.  We use an eclectic combination of evidence-based modalities including mindfulness-based therapies, psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy tools (ACT), play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and problem solving therapy.  We also provide education, coping skill training, skills for boundary setting/communication, expressive art and workbook assignments.

Trauma therapy may include the use of grounding and coping strategies, DBT Skills, Seeking Safety curricula and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

We provide culturally competent mental healthcare to LGBTQIA people and their loved ones. Transgender, Non Binary, Re-Transitioning, Intersex, Two-Spirit, Agender, and those questioning gender are welcome. Generally, if you or someone you love is gender diverse, part of the kink community, a furry, has a relationship structure (CNM) or dynamic that is non normative, you are welcome here.

We also have additional experience with the Latine/Latinx community, BIMPOC clients, neurodivergent people, and one therapist is bilingual in the Spanish language (Hablamos español).

Gender Therapy

Some clients come to explore gender and want an experienced therapist to help them in that process.  Others have a clear sense of their path but are struggling with social or family issues related to coming out. Not everyone who comes in to see us wants to make gender changes.  However, for those who need them,  we provide gender-focused therapy and gender health evaluations (letters) to be referred to medical providers.

We also see transgender/gender diverse people who don't need to work on gender at all but find when they've tried to see past therapists for one thing, like depression, an inexperienced therapist tends to be curious or asks inappropriate questions about their gender. This makes it quite difficult to actually focus on the issues that are important to you.

We offer group programming which includes an ongoing twice monthly Thursday night Gender Therapy Group and a new group for Partners of Gender Diverse People  two Wednesdays a month,  forming in 2024.
